Benefits

The following is a brief outline of your benefits at SCKMC. It is not intended to be used as policy and is subject to change at any time. We ask that you contact the human resources department for more details.

Medical Insurance - Full and Part-time staff are eligible for coverage beginning the first of the month following the start date of employment. Multiple plan options are available including single and family coverage. SCKMC provides premium sharing to all eligible staff with a portion of the monthly premium paid by the employer.

Dental Insurance - Full and Part-time staff are eligible for coverage beginning the first of the month following the start date of employment. Multiple plan options are available including single and family coverage.

Retirement Plan - Full and Part-time staff become members of the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System (KPERS) on their start date. Members are vested after five years in a qualified position. Click here to learn more about the KPERS program

Paid Days Off - We offer a flexible program to manage time away from work. Our PDO benefit allows you to bank time to be used for vacation, holidays, or the first three days of illness. Full and Part-time staff begin accruing time off after 90 days of employment. Accrual is based upon the actual number of hours worked in a pay period.

Extended Illness Bank - Our EIB benefit allows you to bank time to be used for illness which requires more than three scheduled days away from work for recovery. Full and Part-time staff begin accruing extended illness time after 90 days of employment. Accrual is based upon the actual number of hours worked in a pay period.

Long Term Disability -Part of the KPERS program, medically disabled members are eligible for two-thirds of their annual salary after meeting a 180 day qualifying period.

Accidental Death -Part of the KPERS program, member's benefiiaries are eligible for one and one-half of their annual salary.

Pay Differential -All employees are eligible for differentials based upon day of the week, shift, and/or job responsibilities. Differentials offered include:
     *Weekend Differential
     *Night shift Differential
     *Evening Shift Differential
     *Charge Nurse Differential
     *House Supervisor Differential

Educational Assistance -Full time employees with at least one-year of service are eligible to apply for up to $900/year of reimbursable tuition expenses.

Employee Cafeteria Discounts -All employees receive reduced rates for cafeteria purchases.

Vaccinations -All employees are eligible to receive flu shots and the Hep B vaccine at no charge.
