Health Information / Scanning Clerk

Position: Scanning Clerk

Description:

1. Scan ER records daily

2. Scan in-patient and out-patient documents

3. Enter C account information

4. Answer phones

5. Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education: high School graduate or equivalent. Medical terminology desirable.

Other: Able to communicate well with others; Self motivated and highly organized. Typing and computer skills. Ability to file with accuracy.

Reporting Relationship:

Department Manager/Supervisor: HIS/UR Team Leader

Immediate Reports: None

Interrelationships: Works as an integral part of the Health Information Services Department. Must work effectively with nursing, physicians, business services staff, other ancillary staff, patients and their families.

Working Conditions:

Job responsibilities require the employee to work in an office environment 95% of the time. Moderate exposure to noise, lighting, and/or temperature levels, due to phones and office equipment being operated. Exposure to irritating, unpleasant, or hazardous elements or conditions (i.e. blood, chemicals, and infectious diseases) is minimal.
