Review requisitions for accuracy and vendor within purchasing network.
Confer with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability and delivery schedule.
Maintain lowest possible inventory level where economically feasible.
Determine method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid.
Prepare purchase orders or bid requests.
Review bid proposals.
Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, cost, delivery, product quality or performance and inventories.
Responsible for department budget and audits.
Responsible for maintaining good customer service relations with internal and external customers.
Process purchase orders for payment. Checking purchase order for errors.
Responsible for having quality supplies and equipment in the right place at the right time, in proper quantities, at the lowest possible cost to the hospital.
Insure that the daily mail is processed and sent out daily.
Insure that all shipments are received and processed and taken to the correct departments.
Make sure that all departments are stocked daily with supplies to perform their responsibilities to the patients.
Responsible for scheduling of hospital vehicles.
Responsible for annual inventory counts.
Education: High school diploma or GED is required; Two years of college or an associate’s degree in business or healthcare related fields required.
Experience: Strong managerial background in inventory control, procurement, and logistics preferably in the medical field; Minimum of two years experience in a supervisory/leadership capacity.
Other: excellent computer and negotiating skills; Highly organized.
